The NBA Finals are set!

Get ready for Detroit-San Antonio II! Okay, so maybe I’m jumping the gun a bit, but really, is there anyone expecting anything less that a rematch of the 2005 NBA Finals?

I’m thrilled that the Pistons finished off the Bulls on Thursday. I admit that I was feeling very uneasy up through the start of the fourth quarter. Enough with the “Baby Bulls” talk already. This team is going to make some noise next year, especially if John Paxson can work some magic and bring in a low-post scoring presence.

As far as San Antonio, it was no shock (at least to me) that they handled Phoenix. Of course, now the media is whining about how if Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw weren’t “wrongly” suspended for Game 5, we’d be looking at an exciting Game 7. Oh, please.

Strangely missing in this assessment is the fact that the Spurs handled Phoenix even without Robert Horry, the same guy who was responsible for the Pistons’ defeat in 2005. Phoenix was the favorite of the media this year because of their high-scoring, defenseless games. Too bad for them that the BETTER team actually won.

Finnally we agree on something, The best team won that series. After last nights close call with the cavs in game one; I’m wondering if you “truely” believe that the Pistons have this series wraped up an ready. If Labron had made just four of his free throw shots last night the Cavs would have won….WOOAAHH STOP THE PRESSES!!! LABRON DIDN’T MAKE IT TO THE FREE THROW LINE LAST NIGHT??? You know something is foul in Denmark when the “future” of the NBA doesn’t even get one call. He is the “air-apparent” to the throne of the GREAT ONE, so just be assosiation he gets a call or two (whether right or wrong). So if he gets not one call, you HAVE to agree that something is amiss in D-Town. Do to the NBA’s “Hands on” approach to making a better (and longer) series as a clear and wrong ploy to make more money. That being said…Cavs in 7!!!

Do I sense ANOTHER bet coming on? $20 like last year?

I’ll bet the Pistons don’t score over a 100 and win in any game for the rest of the playoffs…I’ll bet that Rasheed can’t finnish without getting more technicals…I’ll bet that Labron won’t score under 12 the rest of the playoffs…and I’ll bet that the next time the Cav’s won’t miss that 3-point stot…

Well, I can be a good sport and admit that you called it.

Just don’t let it go to your head. :-)
