Pass the Pepto, please

I literally felt sick to my stomach while watching last night’s game between the Pistons and Cavs. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one.

I really don’t know what to say. The Pistons set out to prove that all of the LeBron hype was a joke. What they proceeded to do on at least five different occasions last night was let LeBron blow past them for uncontested dunks. What ever happened to a good, hard foul? Oh, yeah…those aren’t legal in the NBA anymore.

Don’t think that I’m making excuses. The Pistons’ play was an embarrassment last night. They deserve to be where they are, down 3-2 and heading to Cleveland. Some people are pointing out that this is the same position they were in last year against the Cavs. What they’re forgetting is that the Pistons ran out of gas in their next series against the Heat. Even IF they manage to get by Cleveland, does anyone seriously think they’ll have a chance against San Antonio?

So looking ahead, here’s a question for you: If the Cavs go to the Finals, do you think LeBron will get a little extra help from the refs so that he can cement his “legacy” as the next coming of Michael Jordan? Don’t think for a second that the NBA doesn’t want that. I just don’t see any way that the Cavs can beat the Spurs without a whole lot of help.

Sounds to me like that pepto has left a “bitter” taste in your mouth. I am a closet “king james” fan, (although I haven’t seen much of him until these playoffs) and I’m also a huge MJ fan. That being said; I am always resistant in naming anybody the “air-apparent” because Micheal was the best EVER! The problem with Lebron has always been his lack of confidence to “take” over a game. After watching game four I saw flashes of what he could do, but still not his full potential. Then along came the “next” great one in game five. There wasn’t a player on that court that could stop him, but him self.

For those (Piston Fans) who say he gets away with “things”, or gets “ghost” calls; I say “HOGWASH”! I don’t know when the last time was that a player like him didn’t get the calls. He was repetedly fouled and didn’t get a call. I’m not saying it was one way, but he seemed to not get them when it would have really counted. Last nights game was a disgrace for NBA officials. They clearly let that game get out of hand. They try to set a tone early (McDees) but in the end let way to many things go. By the way when was the last time anybody “accidentally” grabbed another man around his neck and couldn’t let go before throwing him to the ground…”going for the ball”…my eye!

I thought the defining momment in the game for the Cavs was when Lebron drove by Teyshon for a layup or dunk and he turns to his team mates with hands raised as to say “wheres my help”. From that point on they were just lost out there when it came to guarding Lebron. Then the few times they got presure on him he made incredible shots. My only suggestion would be to put Rip on him (I think he’d do the best job), and to give Rip the ball on the Offensive end more. How many juppers did he miss…not many.

Well, we’re only a few hours from tip-off, so we’ll see what the Pistons try to do to match up with LeBron. I’ve decided that I’m not going to waste an entire evening watching the Pistons tonight, so it’s off to Festival of the Arts in GR! If anything, I will most certainly see the last quarter.
