I’m additcted

Well, I thought I’d never be saying this, but I am addicted to the Nintendo Wii! It is so much fun! I enjoy the tennis game the best, although I’m not as good as it as Rob. I also like the bowling, and from time to time the baseball. I accidentally hit Rob’s TV with the Wii controller - oops. It was tennis, and I was really into it - what can I say!?

Sarah loves to Wii

I’m very happy with the investment (at least for now). I think that the games seem to be much more interactive than regular video games, and they also seem less violent. (My favorite thing today was watching Rob play this Wario Smooth Moves game - he was hula hooping!) Oh - and we also get to create characters, called “Miis.” I have had a lot of fun coming up with how different characters will look - and then once you create them, they appear in your games. My baseball team today consisted of characters I’d created - Bif (this big bully guy), Carla (a goth girl), S Man (looks like my sister’s boyfriend), Sister (looks like my sister), Chauncy (after my favorite Piston), Margarita (for a little Hispanic diversity), Barbie, and Ken. My team also consisted of Rob and I.

What fun!

The Dude, Walter, and Donnie will definitely be getting the Mii treatment. “Big Lebowski” bowling, baby!

As I write this, I’m getting ready to hit the sack. My alarm is set for 5:30 a.m., and then I’m headed unshowered to Toys ‘R Us on the Beltline to wait for the doors to open at 10 and finally snag a Wii. I’ve been searching hardcore for a week, and just want to get the darn thing and get into the fun already. My first game will be “Zelda: Twilight Princess” but I’d also like to download some of the classic games (once I get the proper setup and a Classic Controller) and eventually Wii Play for the extra controller. Then the docking station to keep things charged up, and another nunchuck, and… that’ll be about it for awhile. Good thing my birthday’s around the corner, eh?

Glad you guys are enjoying yours!

Kyle - I am keeping my fingers crossed that you were able to get one! I expect a full report! So, when are we going to have a Wii party?

Woohoo! I was there on my own outside Toys ‘R Us, feeling a little bit silly at around ten after 6, when a guy pulled up and tipped me off that the Cascade Meijer had several on the shelf. Sure enough, when I cruised down there and dashed to the back of the store, there they were! It’s been a busy day, with our outgoing pastor’s farewell service and reception, and then joining Melanie for a church choir party, so I haven’t had a lot of time to play yet. Tennis and Golf are going to take some practice, but I rolled through five opponents in boxing, mercied a team 7-0 in the second inning, and on my second game of Bowling (I’d had practice before when we played a bit on Mother’s Day), I nailed a 265!

Wii Party sounds awesome! I’d rent Mario Party 8. Do you have Wii Play? It’s on my birthday list. My mom is visiting on the 18th through the 22nd, and then we have Birthday Bash, so let’s connect on the week after. We could roll over to your new place or you’d both be welcome here.

YEAH! We are both cheering very loudly for you! I’ve been playing tennis for most of the evening - Rob is working on summer school lesson plans. I am almost a pro in tennis - and one of my Miis (Borat - I’ll have to send you him) just beat a couple of “computer pros.”
Man, I thought I was doing great in bowling when my high score is a 167 - I have a long way to go. Congrats on the 265!
Yep, we have Wii Play. It’s fun. Although I still like Wii Sports best. We rented Wario Smooth Moves - I really enjoyed it, and Rob tells me he enjoyed it as well (it came recommended from a couple of our students who have a Wii). I would buy it, although Rob isn’t so convinced. We rented two “flops” (in our opinion - Bust a move Bash and Red Steel). The Red Steel game has lots of glitches in the software (according to Rob), and the Bust a Move Bash is just really lame.
Let’s definitely have a Wii party sometime that last week in June. I don’t know what kind of a setup you have for the Wii, but ours (at Rob’s) is a tight squeeze for 2 people (32″ TV). If you’d rather we do it at your place, we’d come there too! You might have a better setup.
Keep us posted!
Congrats again!
