Rob started it!

If you haven’t visited our house lately, you’ll have to stop by and admire Rob’s handy work! While I was in Mexico, Rob put in a beautiful, new mailbox. No longer will we come home on a rainy or snowy day to find our mailbox wide open! No longer will I have to take off the seat belt to reach WAY up to get into the mailbox from inside the car. We can even brag a bit to say that our mailbox is unique to our subdivision. No one else has the same color. We can even brag because Rob started a trend.

The trend is putting in a new mailbox. We MUST live in the hicks, because of the newest mailbox that was recently added to our subdivision. I called Rob the other day from my car to tell him someone else was putting in a new mailbox. When I drove back by it on my way home, I had to do a double take. They put in a DEER mailbox - complete with body and legs. The mailbox itself is the deer’s head, and the rest of the body is done with wooden poles coming up from different points in the ground. It is, by far, the most hilarious thing I’ve seen in a long time, and at the same time, is the most horrible mailbox I’ve ever seen. We are SOOOOOO glad that we don’t live anywhere near that house. Talk about tacky! So if you’re driving by the neighborhood, it’s worth a drive through our subdivision.

*makes mental note to down his deer mailbox before the Patins’ next visit*

oooh, that is ugly. I thought the body would be more 3 dimensional than mere edging timbers. It looks anorexic. Nice hooves. I hope those aren’t REAL Michigan antlers. Our cousin Scott could put them to much better use ( I have one of his antler lamps, and it is really cool)! And you’d think they’d at least want to finish the landscaping to accentuate such a treasure.

So if you & Rob started this trend, what does YOUR mailbox look like?? A bulldog? A bronco?
